Kala Surf

I have always considered the ocean as my home. Since a small child, my father started referring to me as his son who lived on the beach. I am from Peru originally, Punta Hermosa area, but traveled Chile and Argentina for years before finally making Los Cerritos, Baja California Sur my home more than 10 years ago. My passion for surfing and for martial arts have evolved into a complimentary relationship where the movement and flow required for both help strengthen a mentality and discipline which honors the body's movement in response to the external world, but with intention. For me, the conditioning and discipline of martial arts paired with the spiritual awakening of surfing creates my mental and physical foundation for living a happy and full life and this is what I intend to instill in my alumuni by encouraging them to discover their limits and push past them on their journey, whatever it may be. I have competed in many surf competitions and mma tournaments, and gain joy from seeing others gain the confidence from doing the same. The testing is what makes us better. When we are better than we were yesterday, we are learning. Life is good; breathe it in and keep pushing forward. I’ve been helping clients learn to surf and train in the Cerritos area for 10 years now.
